This service includes a tune chip with the latest factory firmware and fuel map selection by tune resistor, installed a the customer supplied ECU. This ECU modification requires a tune resistor be installed in the wiring harness. Note:  not all Rover hotwire wiring harnesses have the socket or wires for a tune resistor.  If you do not install a tune resistor, the ECU will default to the limp home map. This services includes, chip, installation, and testing on a Rover hotwire injected vehicle. Includes a 470 ohm resistor to set to map 2 (US/Europe non-catalyst tune). Note this is a bare resistor with no connector, but if your harness has the tune resistor wiring, you can splice this in.  If your harness does not have the tune resistor wiring, please see our "internal resistor" service, or your ECU will default to the "limp home" fuel map!
